Language Live is used by some students. Below is a walk-through on how to get your microphone setup and ready to use with the site.
FIRST UPDATE YOUR BROWSER - Make sure you are using the latest version of the Google Chrome Browser. Check for an update by going to Help>About Google Chrome. This will force a new tab to option that will check for a new version of Chrome.
Below is a page that has the updated version of Chrome. If you are in need of an updated, the new version will be automatically updating when you visit this page and a button will say relaunch Chrome for an update.
CHECK MIC - From the Course drop down, select "Check Mic"
STEP 1 - Upon clicking "My Mic" a pop up will appear requesting access to your microphone. Click the "Allow" button.
STEP 2 -Also in the Flash settings box, click the Allow radio button.
STEP 3 - In Step 3, check your microphone level by speaking, you should see the red waves rise.
STEP 4 - In this step you will make a short test recording. Do this by clicking on the record button and speaking into your microphone.
STEP 5 - Review your recording - this means you will playback your test recording to ensure it sounds good.
STEP 6 - Upload your recording. Do this by clicking the Upload button.
STEP 7 - Play your test recording from the server. This means you will test the recording one more time.
STEP 8 - Click the blue "Test Complete! Close Window" button to end the test.
