How to Update the Antivirus on your Computer (Sophos)
We are in the process of upgrading all of our students to the latest version of our Antivirus program. If you receive a message like this:
Don’t worry, it is a simple process to fix. All you will need to do is open up the Software Catalog (a Blue Folder or a Computer monitor icon on the desktop)
Look in the "Anti-Virus" folder for "Sophos Cloud"
Double click on that icon and it will install the latest version of our Anti-Virus software to your computer. (If it doesn’t seem to be doing anything, you may need to right click and press “Repair”)
The download/installation may take 15-45 minutes depending on internet speeds and after if finishes it will prompt you to restart your computer (when you press Yes it will restart the computer, if nothing is pressed it will automatically restart the computer in 5 minutes).
Once you restart you should be up to date with the most recent version (You can tell by the Blue Shield with the white "S" at the bottom right corner of the computer).
If there is nothing in your Software Catalog, you may need to restart your computer and wait 5-10 minutes on the login screen before logging in (you may also want to try restarting the computer with the computer plugged in to an Ethernet cable).
