How do I submit an attendance excuse?

To submit an attendance excuse:

  1. From a Parent account, select the “Attendance” icon on the left-hand navigation bar in the PALCSchool Lobby.

  2. This will open the Attendance page. Shown here are absences for the student along with status and reason. Example is shown below:

  3. From this page, a parent can submit three Excuse Types: excuse for a selected date, for today and/or submit a pre-approved absence request. These three options are Submit Excuse, Submit Excuse for Today and Submit Pre-Approved Absence Request.

Submit Pre-Approved Absence Request

Clicking on this link will allow you to submit an excuse for any Pending Absence.
  1. Click on the "Submit Excuse" link.
  2. Select date(s) of student's absence.
  3. Select the reason for absence(s) from dropdown box.
  4. Provide explanation for absence(s) in the section marked Comments.
  5. Click Submit.
Clicking on this link will allow you to submit an excuse for today's absence and any other Pending Absence.
  1. Click on the "Submit an Excuse for Today's" link.
  2. Select today's date and any other Pending Absence dates if applicable.
  3. Select the reason for absence(s) from dropdown box.
  4. Provide explanation for absence(s) in the section marked Comments.
  5. Click Submit.
Clicking on this link will allow you to submit an approval request for a future extended absence period.
  1. Click on the "Submit Pre-Approved Absence Request" link.
  2. Review policy guidelines carefully.
  3. Provide all information required for your request.
  4. Upload supporting documentation if applicable.
  5. Click Submit.
