What is PALCSchool?
PALCSchool is the core of our educational network at PALCS. It is a platform custom developed by PALCS that is comprised of several modules including our student information system, online application system and asset management system. It also connects students and staff to major components such as our main learning management system (Canvas) and Google-based productivity and collaboration tools and email.
PALCSchool is also home to progress tracking tools for students and families that pull information from Canvas and present an up-to-date overview of a student's course and lesson activity.
How is PALCSchool used?
Within the PALCSchool site navigation are several important information areas for students and learning coaches including:
- School and Division Announcements
- Canvas Courses
- Email account and online file storage.
- Official School Calendars
- FAQ, Forms and Resource links
- Event information
- Family Support Network
PALCSchool is also used specifically for:
- Students and Learning Coaches are able to monitor their progress from areas such as the Student Profile and Lesson Overview.
- Students also access their report card information directly in PALCSchool.
- Learning Coaches submit and manage their student's attendance.
- There are several specially designed Dashboards for staff including the Special Ed, 504, Gifted, Interventionist, Grad Pathway and Admissions Dashboards. These Dashboards present timely, accurate and actionable data to support and guide strategic and tactical planning.
- Teachers use the Data Wall to filter based on student performance and key demographics and send communications to these targeted sets of students and parents.
- The PALCSchool/PALCS App provides learning coaches with app-based connection to our environment including push notifications that involve their student's performance.
Why Does PALCS use PALCSchool?
PALCS uses PALCSchool to provide a centralized, secure, and streamlined experience for students, families, and staff. As a custom-built platform designed specifically for our school community, it connects academic data, communication tools, student records, attendance, reporting, and instructional resources into one cohesive system rather than relying on disconnected tools.
Because PALCSchool is developed specifically for PALCS, it can adapt to meet the unique needs of our programs and students. This flexibility supports real-time access to accurate information, improves communication, enables data-informed decision-making, and strengthens our ability to monitor progress and support student success.
