If you are having issues being heard or using your computer’s microphone, the first thing you should check is to see if the microphone is muted. On many models of PALCS computers there is a key that disables/mutes the microphone. On the top row of the computer there is a light by the microphone button that will indicate if the microphone is muted. If there is a light, it means the microphone is muted.
To unmute the computer, tap the microphone button. If the light does not go away you may also need to press the “fn” key at the bottom left of the keyboard and then press the F8 key ( Function (FN) Keys and the Function Lock ).
If that does not solve your issues, you may want to check your computer’s privacy settings. You can do this by going to Windows settings.
Then going to the “Privacy” section (you may need to scroll down to the bottom of the list to find it).
Then go to the “Microphone” tab on the left side.
Make sure that “Allow apps to access your Microphone” is turned on, otherwise the microphone may not work.
You will also want to scroll down and make sure that "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone" is also enabled.
If you are still having issues, you may want to restart your computer but if the issue persists, please let us know by opening a ticket.
