The PALCSchool Lobby is a very important tool for accessing your academic resources. If the whole site (or certain aspects) are not loading properly, there are a couple of troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Restarting the computer. This can often resolve weird website issues. ( Shutting Down, Restarting, and Sleep Mode/Standby on Your Computer )
- Clear the browser cache and restart the computer again. ( How do I clear my internet browser cache? )
- Try it on different browser (PALCS laptops should have Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge installed).
- Try it on a different device. (If it is not working on a different device, we might be having an outage issue. Check for any alerts or notifications that have been sent out school wide about any school wide issue. - Remind Text Alerts )
- Give it some time (take a quick break for a walk, stretch, or snack and try it again when you are back).
If you are getting a "State Information Lost" message when trying to access the lobby, that usually means your computer is having trouble communicating with the PALCS servers. You will want to troubleshoot the issue using the steps listed above as well as checking that your computer has the correct time ( How do I resync / reset my date and time? )
If you are getting a "503 Service Unavailable" error message, we might be having a brief outage. (As of 2/2024 we have had a couple of issues that have briefly caused this error message to appear.)
If you are getting a "Please contact PALCSchool technical support for assistance. (4:504)" please try the steps listed above as that should resolve this issue.
